Supplier-Managed Charging

SMC (Supplier-Managed Charging) allows the utility to monitor, manage, and restrict BEV charging to optimize energy flow during night charging at home. By SMC, your BEV will be mostly charged during off-peak periods.

Sample SMC Program (Considering max range of 200 miles):
Enrollment Cash: $300
Monthly Cash: $20
Override Allowance: 5 per month

  1. You get one-time payment of $300 if you stay for at least 3 months.
  2. You get recurring monthly payment of $20 if you don’t exceed override allowance for that month.
  3. Freely override to normal charging for up to 5 times per month, each time effective for 24 hrs.
  4. SMC won’t be triggered if battery is below 80 miles.
  5. SMC will give you guaranteed 160 miles by the morning (8 hrs’ charging).

2 Monthly Cash $2, $5, $10, $15, $20 The recurring monthly payment you'll receive if you don't exceed override allowance.
3 Override Allowance 0, 1, 3, 5 The monthly frequency of freely override to normal charging, effective for 24hrs. If you exceed the limit, no monthly cash for this month.
4 Minimum Threshold 20%, 30%, 40% (See battery bar) SMC won't be triggered below this threshold. Converted to miles.
5 Guaranteed Threshold 60%, 70%, 80% (See battery bar) SMC will give you this much of range by the morning (8 hrs' cahrging). Converted to miles.
